Whitworth u3a have over 20 interest groups, all self-supporting and led by u3a members who share their knowledge and skills. To join a group, you need to become a u3a member. You can join multiple groups, depending on availability. Groups vary in size, meeting in homes or local venues, with members sharing costs for venue hire and resources if needed. Group meetings occur weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, based on the group's activity and members' preferences.

For general inquiries or to suggest or lead a group, contact Helen Illingworth, the Interest Group Coordinator. Group leaders need no formal qualifications, just enthusiasm for the subject. Whitworth U3A welcomes ideas for new groups and offers to cover equipment costs if needed. Further information and group details are available at monthly meetings or on the website.
